AT THE EXHIBITION

Sneezing is my biggest hobby in last few days. I tried to look over the fact that I could get sick after a long time, but here it is. My first day in bad after ages.  Good time for me to link the new post from last Saturday. We may call it the second part of great relaxing city day. After visiting the RETRO market in KC Dunaj, we headed to the jewelry exhibition of Bety K. Majerníková – named “Pozemské záhrady”. Those of you, who are not Slovak, may not know who I’m writing about. But to many of young people in my county, this young lady has been know as a front singer of group Noise Cut, very talented young woman, designer and a young mum. She has past away in spring this year by horrible car accident in the age of 33. I did not know her in person, but many of my friends did. This exhibition has been prepared in memoriam by her friends, as it has been her biggest wish to have an exhibition right at this magical place. Her exhibition takes place in the area of an old city pool hall in Bratislava. It has been shot down in the 90ties. It really is MAGICAL!

SK8!

SK8 – the first one I remember is from dad´s BW pictures, holding hands of my 3 year old brother who rides on skate somewhere in 1978…..I grew up with skates. Have friends, who started with skating in late 80ties. ROH square used to be the meeting point for all skaters in Bratislava. You either love or hate this sport. I felt always sympathy for all sports with boards – surf, skate, snowboard…….there is something about it I just can’t describe.

SK8 – prvý, ktorý si pamätám je z fotky môjho ocina, na ktorej drží môjho vtedy 3 roky starého brata pri skejtovaní niekedy v roku 1978....So skejtami som vyrastala. Mám priateľov, ktorí začali so skejtom koncom 80tych rokov. ROHáčko bolo stretávkou pre všetkých skejterov v Bratislave. Buď tento šport miluješ alebo nenávidíš. Vždy som mala sympatie pre všetky športy spojené s doskou – surf, skejt, snowboard.....niečo na nich je, čo neviem popísať.

TWO IN ONE

It has been very cultural afternoon last Wednesday. I have visited two exhibition openings happening in one day. One of them called THE CHARME OF ACCESSORIES at the Gallery X and the other one WEDDING by Renata Ormadíková. Renata is one of my favorite earring designers in town. Will have to post my Alice in wonderland earrings later on J. If you live I Bratislava or get the chance to come by, take time to visit these exhibitions…..they are worth to be seen.

Minulá streda bola plná kultúry. V jeden deň som navštívila dve vernisáže. Jednou bola výstava ČARO ODEVNÝCH DOPLNKOV v Galérii X a druhou výstava SVADBA  Renaty Ormandíkovej. Renata je kráľovnou náušníc a doplnkov. Musím tu neskôr zavesiť foto mojich obľúbených náušnice na motív Alica v krajine zázrakov, ktoré od nej mám J. Ak bývaš v Bratislave, alebo budeš mat cestu okolo, urob si čas na návštevu výstav ........oplatí sa ich vidieť.
